Half Day Ghyll Scrambling

Enjoy this "Wet and Wild" experience in one of the Lake Districts beautiful & remote hidden gorges as part of one of our open group activities!

Ghyll scrambling is an exhilarating and fun activity perfect for families or groups who want a challenge, making it one of our most popular activities!

You will make your way up a mountain stream whilst having so much fun along the way.
This is a wet activity, so you can expect to be plunging into clear pools, swimming against flowing water, climbing up the side of waterfalls, exploring caves and sliding down water shoots along the way, the ghyll scrambling location is in one of the most beautiful Western Lake District valleys, Wasdale.

Suitable for groups, families, couples & individual travellers who wosh to be part of a like minded group on our open group sessions.

A moderate level of fitness is required for this activity and a minimum age and height apply - The Ghyll can be a challenging environment, especially if we have had any rain fall.

West Lakes Adventure is a local family run activity provider, opporating from our HQ in Eskdale and our base Water Sports base Wasdale Valley.

Esk Gorge Canyoning - Extreme Ghyll Scramble

This is a full day adventure which is a step up from the Ghyll Scrambling, the jumps are bigger, the climbs are bigger, the water is even bigger!

The remote location mean that we need a full day and help to make this one of our most challenging and exhilarating activities.

We will venture far up the river Esk, towards its source in the foothills of Scafell Pike and journey up it as it makes its down into the valley, the pools of the River Esk are crystal clear with some mega jumps in to deep emerald pools.

A good level of fitness and ability os required for this activity and a minimum age applies, this is a very challanging ghyll, but very much worth that challenge!

We are the only provider who is local and based in the Eskdale Valley right on the doorstep of this fantastic venue.  This not only means we have extensive knowledge and respect of the venue, but participants have access to our facilities onsite before setting off a whole day of Extreme Adventure!
