Where better to experience and enjoy kayaking for the first time than in the Lake District. Our instructors will coach you through all aspects of operating safely whilst journeying on open water. During your experience we will provide you with the skills to prepare a boat, paddle efficiently and play some games if you wish.
Due to our location we predominately use Wastwater - the deepest lake in England, which is a stunning, quiet and remote lake tucked away in the Western Lake District.
Throughout the year visitors and locals flock to take in its dramatic beauty which was voted Britain’s favourite view in 2007.
We are fully mobile and can offer open kayaking for larger groups on many of the lakes, waters & meres in the Lake District.
Activity Duration: 3 Hours.
Minimum Age: 10 Years.
A moderate level of fitness is required for this activity.
PLEASE NOTE: Our Open Group Activities require adult supervision if under the age of 18.

Kayak the River Esk
The Western Lake district is surprisingly close to a wonderful coastline and we have two fantastic accessible rivers which flow into an Estuary in the scenic village of Ravenglass, which as well as the area it is located - the English Lake District, Ravenglass in it's own right is a UNESCO World Heritage site, due to its History as an Important Naval Base for the Romans in the 2nd century.
The Journey will depend on the tidal times as the water in the Estuary disappears during low tide, but if you time it right you can take a relaxing journey from Ravenglass on the incoming tide and then once the tide turns, return to the village and enjoy a cake or cream tea in one of its Pubs or Cafes.
Activity Duration: 5 - 6 Hours.
Minimum Age: 14 Years.
PLEASE NOTE: Our Open Group Activities require adult supervision if under the age of 18.
Under 18's must have a parent taking part on our open group sessions.
