Kayaking on the Lake - Wastwater

Experience kayaking on one of England remotest and most impressive lakes.
Voted Britain’s favourite view back in 2007, you will paddle beneath the splendour of the Scafell Massif, home to Scafell Pike England’s highest mountain, from your boat on England’s deepest lake.
These are half-day adventures, which will give you an introduction to paddling a kayak under the guidance of our experienced and qualified instructors.

  • Activity Duration: Approx. 3 hours.
  • Minimum Age: 10 yrs.
  • At least 1 Adult Participant for every 1 child under the age of 16. A good level of fitness is required.
Kayak the River Esk Estuary

As part of this adventure, you will start in the beautiful and ancient village of Ravenglass which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before setting out on the incoming tide and heading up the estuary, into the river and towards the Eskdale Valley.
With views out towards the Isle of Man and inland towards Scafell Pike and the Lake District, it is a truly stunning voyage.
When we reach the high point we will stop for some lunch, and as the tide turns, we will return with it, back into Ravenglass.

Please note: this activity is dependent on the tide so can only run at certain times.
