Open Sessions
Easter to September

From Easter – September we offer the half-day SUP on the Lake as part of a programme of activities which run during the key school holidays - you can simply book spaces onto one of the sessions that are already running.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is a fantastic fun water activity and is fast becoming the paddle sport of choice, we were excited to be one of the first Lake District based outdoor activity providers to introduce the sport back in 2015.

An off shoot from surfing it was believed to have originated from Hawaii but has made its way to the UK and now the Lake District.

SUP is an exciting & fun sport that can be enjoyed by anyone, you don’t need to be super fit or super skilled to take part, it is surprisingly easy to get the hang of!

Minimum Age: 1 - 14 depending on venue
Duration: Approx. 6 Hours

‘SUP’ the River – the next step

Once you have mastered the basics of paddle boarding, why not try out a slow-moving tidal river. The Western Lakes provides the perfect location for the next step in paddle boarding, it is surprisingly close to a wonderful coastline and we have two fantastic accessible rivers which flow into the Estuary in the scenic village of Ravenglass, which as well as the English Lake District, Ravenglass in it's own right boasts the UNESCO World Heritage status, due to its History as an important naval base for the Romans in the 2nd century.

The Journey will depend on the tidal times as the water in the estuary disappears during low tide, but if you time it right you can take a relaxing journey from Ravenglass on the incoming tide and then once the tide turns, return to the village and enjoy a cake or cream tea in one of its pubs or cafes.

Minimum Age: 14
Duration: Approx. 6 Hours

Open Sessions – April to September

During the season we offer a programme of taster sessions on Wastwater in the Wasdale Valley, meeting you at the lake side by one of our experienced instructors, these three hour sessions will give you a taste of what stand up paddl;e boarding is all about.  Embark on a small lake journey, taking the time to play some games and stretching your legs on the lake shore before heading back.

Minimum Age: 10
